Naglalakad sina Totong at Irena pababa sa bayan. Dadalawin nila sa ospital si mang Poldo. Halos ay isang linggo na sa ospital ang matanda. Kina-ilangang tahiin ang mga sugat nito sa ulo. Mabuti na lang at maraming kakilala si Jun sa munisipyo, natulungan ng DSWD ang matanda para sa gastusin sa ospital.

Magka-holding hands ang dalawang magkasi. Matapos ang magdamag na yun na kung saan ay nakuha ni Totong ang pagkababae ni Irena, parang hindi na naghihiwalay ang dalawa. Tinulungan ni Totong si Irena na magpalawak ng hinawang kaingin. Tataniman nila ito ng kamoteng kahoy at kamoteng baging.

“Magsisikap akong magkaroon ng sarili kong homestead dito,” sabi ni Totong, “gagawa ako ng sariling bahay par...
